E. W. Poore Inc.

E. W. Poore is one of Manchester’s oldest continuously run, family-owned businesses, having been in operation since 1880.  Currently owned & operated by Susan Turbyne, 4th generation descendant of Edgar Wallace Poore, the business has changed focus several times.  Starting out as a coal and heating oil supplies, a major change was to provide paint and wallpaper supplies and services.  As leisure time increased for many people in the 1950’s, paint-by-number kits became popular, and E. W. Poore was selling art supplies to support that.  Picture framing was the next logical step, and we pride ourselves on providing unsurpassed quality, service, and expertise to the framing customer.

Today, E. W. Poore is:

  1. Bullet Custom Picture Framing for home or office with over 2000 mouldings and 800 mat samples to choose from - with help from our trained designers;

  1. Bullet Art Gallery featuring local artists with exhibits changing every 4-6 weeks; special group exhibits

  1. Bullet The New Hampshire Room with art showcasing local scenes and artists, perfect for home, office or gift giving;

  1. Bullet The Art Studio with 12 instructors offering a wide variety of art classes for all ages.  Class sessions start in January, April, & September, with a special summer session available;
